Former Iowa Star Scores Game-High 21 Points
Indianapolis, IN - Former Iowa women's basketball star Caitlin Clark made her professional debut for the Indiana Fever tonight in the WNBA's preseason opener. The 2023 No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft led the Fever in scoring with 21 points, but the team ultimately fell to the Dallas Wings 85-73.
Clark connected on 8-of-16 shots from the field, including 3-of-8 from three-point range. She also dished out four assists and grabbed three rebounds in 28 minutes of action.
Despite Clark's impressive performance, the Fever were unable to overcome a strong showing from Dallas, who were led by All-Star guard Arike Ogunbowale's 19 points. Dallas also dominated on the boards, outrebounding Indiana 43-25.
The Fever will have another chance to prove themselves in the preseason on Thursday, when they host the Chicago Sky. The regular season begins on May 6th.
